Hood To Coast “All growth starts at the end of your comfort zone.”
In early spring, Amy was approached to join a team running ‘Hood To Coast’. It’s a relay run that starts at Mt. Hood and ends in Seaside, Oregon. With this race, you and your team tackle long stretches of miles all through the day and night (yep, no sleep!) that really pushes you outside of your comfort zone.
Amy was in a calorie deficit when she committed to this team and I knew we needed to bring her macros up to support her training for this run. Over several months, we slowly brought her calories up an additional 500 calories (daily) to make sure she was optimally recovering while training but also so she felt great when the big day was here!
As race day neared, nerves were at a high. There was a little fear of not letting her team down, a little anxiousness of the unknown, and just with any big goal set…nervousness about wanting to do the best she could!
She CRUSHED it. This picture of Amy after finishing the last leg of her race puts such a huge smile on my face. The overwhelming joy she felt in the moment she crossed the finish line is something we all should be striving for!
I hope sharing this sparks a little motivation in yourself of something you have been putting off or afraid to commit to. You can do hard things. You can feel nervous or a little scared, but don’t let that paralyze you from going after what you want because the feeling you get once you’ve crushed a goal is priceless.
