What led you to flexible eating/Flex Fuel?:  I was unhappy with the progress I wasn’t making.  I had fellow girlfriends at Crossfit that were doing it and I could see their results.  I knew I needed some help and it seemed just perfect for what I was available to do.

What do you do to stay active?: I do crossfit at least three times a week, go hiking, and use my rower in my garage gym.

What has been your biggest challenge through this process so far and how did you overcome it?  My biggest challenge of course is not giving up on myself.  It’s hard to follow a meal plan and still go out and have fun with your friends.  With this I made it that my reward for being good all week was a cheat with my friends.  Then I’m still able to enjoy life but reward my hard work for the week.  The more I did it this way my friends became supportive and stopped being pushy to me when I wasn’t cheating.  Then they were the ones making sure I wasn’t cheating during the week so we could go have fun.

What has been your biggest success through this process so far? My biggest success is that in the last 7 months is that I have lost 40 lbs.  I can’t believe I would ever get here.  I’m so excited but still can’t believe that it’s me in the mirror.  It wasn’t a perfect journey to get here and there was lots of cheat days and lots of having to force myself to get back on the process. It was worth it and it was a slow process but worth it.

Why do you like most about the flexible eating process? I like that I get to pick what I eat.  I love to cook so mixing and matching foods is fun for me.  I love the recipes that Flex Fuel posts to get ideas and plus my friends that are also flexible eating.  I love that I can plan ahead on meals so then I don’t have to have a cheat meal.  It might be a little more difficult to plan it in but as I’ve done it more and more it’s easier.

What is your favorite treat to fit into your macros? Any way I can fit peanut butter in is a great day!!

What’s your favorite macro hack? I follow a bunch of clean eating, macro, and crossfit recipe pages on Instagram.  This is where I get a majority of my ideas for meals and snacks and then just make them in smaller portion to meet my numbers for the day.

What do you like most about having a nutrition coach?  I love having someone that’s there always being a positive voice in helping me.  It’s exactly what I need to help stay on track every week.  Knowing I can reach out whenever I need to and get answers back quickly to help my progress.

Would you recommend others to Flex Fuel and why? I already recommend Flex Fuel to my friends.  I am able to feel like I still have a life and it’s not just about the food.  I’ve learned how even when I’m not counting my food I still have an idea in my head what my numbers are and to make smarter choices that don’t throw me completely off track in my goals.
