She has been on her nutrition journey with us for a little over 3 months, she is down in weight, inches and most importantly she is creating healthy habits and maintaining a healthy relationship with food. She has been working hard to find what is going to create the most success for her long term and we are SO excited and happy to be working with her on the next phase of her nutrition, through her pregnancy!
What led you to flexible eating/Flex Fuel?:
I found flex fuel by recommendations from a gym I use to workout at. Other clients including the owner of the gym had success and highly recommended flex fuel.
What do you do to stay active?:
I love running, cycling and lifting weights. I love group classes but since things are a little different now I joined the peloton community. So I get to run cycle and cross train with a different type of group class vibe virtually!
What has been your biggest challenge through this process so far and how did you overcome it?
I would say patience was my biggest challenge. I’m usually one that likes t see results fast but those are usually the results that don’t last. I put all my trust into Katy and made the decision to be patient and stay consistent. I also learned to measure my success and so much more than just the scale. All of this with the help of Katy and checking in with her. I had accountability and she made me look at the bigger picture and focus on all aspects of the process and not just the scale.
What has been your biggest success through this process so far?
My biggest success has been learning life long healthy habits. Yes, I’ve lost pounds and inches and feel amazing but, I feel like I’ve gained lifetime tools for staying healthy and balances both physically and mentally. I feel good about where I am at health wise and where I am going.
Why do you like most about the flexible eating process?
I like that you can eat whatever you want! This allows for flexible eating. Of course you want to focus on whole nutritional foods but if I want to go out to dinner with friends or have some pizza I can do so without derailing all of my progress. I have complete control all the time. I love that I no longer feel guilty if I decided to indulge in my favorite treat. I feel like my overall relationship with food is better.
What is your favorite treat to fit into your macros?
I love love love dark chocolate. My favorite dark chocolate treat right now is JoJo’s from Costco. It’s a whole bar with nuts and a little dried fruit. I love that this fits in all my macros carbs, fats and protein.
What’s your favorite macro hack?
My favorite hack when I’m low on protein is using green yogurt on everything. Sounds crazy but it’s good with fruit it’s good with baked sweet potatoes or even a taco salad like a sour cream alternative. You can add it to almost anything.
What do you like most about having a nutrition coach?
Accountability and guidance. I know every week that I need to take photos and make sure all my food tracked is logged. I fill out questions weekly that prompted me to think about what went well, what I can work on and overall how I am feeling. Without a coach there is no way I’d been getting that done every week on my own. I also love and appreciate the guidance so much. Whenever I am struggling with something Katy always has suggestions and ideas to help me meet my goals. These are literally things I would never think of and every time I incorporate them I am able to overcome whatever obstacle it is.
Would you recommend others to Flex Fuel and why?
I would recommend flex fuel to everyone! I say everyone because they really set you up for success. Everything is slow steady and gradual. I didn’t feel like it was another fad diet to get results this truly is a lifestyle change and sustainable for that matter. My coach Katy is always sending me detailed recommendations and explains everything perfectly and is available if I need her. I will continue to use flex fuel as I start my new journey as a mom to be! I couldn’t be happier that I have someone to guide me on the best nutrition for both my baby and I.
